NASTi + KARE Integration Guide: Connecting and Sending Shifts
This guide walks you through how to connect your NASTi community to KARE and start sending shifts for coverage. Once connected, NASTi and KARE work together to help you fill gaps quickly—ensuring your schedule stays covered and fully powered.
1. Confirm that your NASTi community is integrated with KARE.
You’ll know the integration is active when you see the Log into KARE button in the sidebar and the Send to KARE button on the Current Schedule.

2. If your community is not yet integrated, select the orange button in the sidebar labeled Link KARE Community or Need a HERO? and submit the form.
Once submitted, a KARE team member will reach out to finalize the integration and enable Send to KARE functionality.

3. Once integrated, configure your Send to KARE Rules based on your community’s preference. You can choose to send open shifts to KARE automatically or send them manually as needed. To edit your Send to KARE Rules:
-
Navigate to Community Settings
-
Select Schedule Rules
-
Scroll to the Send to KARE Rules section
-
Update the settings as desired
-
Select Save

4. Ensure your NASTi roles are mapped to corresponding KARE roles. Only mapped roles can be sent to KARE.
To map or edit roles:
Navigate to Community Settings → Roles, then select the role and assign the appropriate KARE Role.

5. Now you’re ready to send open shifts to KARE. If Send to KARE Rules are set to send automatically, you’ll see OPEN shifts that were sent to KARE are marked with a KARE logo.
To manually send a shift to KARE, select the box in the corner of the shift.

6. Select Send to KARE

7. Select Yes to confirm sending shifts.

8. A slide-out panel will appear, allowing you to review and edit the shift details before sending to KARE.
-
Select the Supervisor Name from the dropdown list
-
Make any additional edits as needed
-
Select Send to KARE

9. Make shift edits as needed.

10. To finalize sending the shift to KARE, select POST A SHIFT.

11. A confirmation message will appear indicating the shift was successfully sent to KARE. The shift card will also display the KARE icon, confirming it has been posted.

12. You did it!
Monitor the shift card for applications from KARE HEROs. When a HERO applies, the shift card will display the Has Applicants badge, indicating the shift is awaiting approval.
