How to Approve Up for Grabs Shift Claims
This guide shows how to review and approve Up for Grabs Claims so that coverage stays tight and employees are given the flexibility they crave! Note: Up for Grabs Claims only require approval if your community’s Schedule Rules are set to require it. Otherwise, claims made by eligible employees who meet overtime and rule requirements are automatically approved by the system. These claims will still be visible in Shift History, but no manager action is required.
1. Up for Grabs Shift Claims can be managed and approved from two locations:

Dashboard > Needs Approval

Shifts That Need Help for a full list (see Step 3)
From the Needs Approval box, select the Up for Grabs Claim to review and take action.

2. Review the details of the claim.
Select the employee who claimed the shift, then choose Approve.
If the shift should be assigned to a different employee, select Approve and Re-assign to assign the shift to an employee who did not submit the claim.

3. To view a full list of Up for Grabs Claims, navigate to Shifts that Need Help
Select Needs Approval

4. The Admin may review and take action on Up for Grabs Claims from this full list or specifically filter for Up for Grabs Claims by type.
If filtering, select Filter icon.

5. Select Up for Grabs Claim

6. Select Review icon to approve a pending request.
Note the statuses: Pending (aqua badge), Approved (green badge).

7. Select the circle next to the employee whose Up for Grabs Claim will be approved.

8. Select Approve.

9. Select Yes to confirm the approval.
