How to Approve Employee Shift Swaps
This guide shows how to review and approve Shift Swaps so coverage stays tight, chaos stays out, and employees get the flexibility they crave. Note: Shift Swaps only require approval if your community’s Schedule Rules are set to require it. Otherwise, swaps made by eligible employees who meet overtime and rule requirements are automatically approved by the system. These swaps will still be visible in Shift History, but no manager action is required.
1. Shift Swap Claims can be managed and approved from two locations:

Dashboard > Needs Approval

Shifts That Need Help for a full list (see Step 3)
From the Needs Approval box, select the Shift Swap Claim to review and take action.

2. To approve, select the box next to employee who has claimed the swap, then select Approve.

3. To see fuller list of Shift Swaps, navigate to Shifts That Need Help
Select Needs Approval

4. The user may review and take action on Shift Swaps from this full list or specifically filter for Shift Swaps by type.
If filtering, select Filter icon.

5. Select Shift Swap

6. To approve a pending request, select Review icon

7. Select the circle next to the employee whose shift swap will be approved.

8. Select Approve.

9. Select Yes to confirm approval.
